Chapter K Maintained Mailing List
Currently we maintain two separate e-mail list for your convience. These e-mail lists consist of a list for the announcement of new newsletters and the distribution of flyers and the other list is for general announcements, ride announcements and cancelations and general information distribution. Both of these lists are double opt in and double opt out. What this means is that once you enter your e-mail address into the list and click subscribe, you will then be sent an e-mail for verification. This accomplishes two things, one is that if someone enters your name and you don't want to be on the list then when you receive an e-mail conformation, just ignore it and you will not be added to the list. The second thing it accomplishes is that the e-mail list must be a valid e-mail address or it will not be added, that way spammers cannot fill the list with bogus e-mail addresses causing our server to attempt to send out many bogus e-mails.
Whenever you receive an email from the server it will include an opt-out link at the end of each and every e-mail so at any time you can decide you don't want to receive those e-mails, just simply click on the link to opt-out. There is also an opt-out link provided on the web site. We want you to have the information but only if you want to receive it.
The next thing you need to know is that we will never sell or distribute you e-mail address outside of the chapter for any reason. The file containing the list of e-mail addresses is stored on our server outside of the folders accessible to the web so they are not kept on the web site. I would be lying if I said I could guarantee that no one will ever hack the list but it is as secure as I can make it.
So please opt-into one or both of the lists below. If you want both then you must opt-in to both list as they are independent list.
